Calling all San Diego Informal STEM Educators!
My name is Jasmine L. Sadler, MBA and I am a doctoral candidate at the University of California San Diego in the school of Education. I invite you to learn and grow your impact in Informal STEM by participating in a temporary Professional Learning Community as part of my Dissertation Research.
The purpose of this study is to design a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to advance Informal (out of school) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) learning for Black girls. I believe that PLCs can be a powerful tool for supporting educators in their professional development and for creating more equitable STEM learning experiences for all students.
If you are an educator or educational leader serving San Diego children who is passionate about STEM education and committed to increasing the participation of Black girls in STEM, I would love to hear from you! I am looking for participants who:
- Have experience serving San Diego children in informal STEM settings
- Are interested in learning more about PLCs and how they can be used to support STEM education
- Are willing to share their experiences and insights with me
If you are interested in participating or would like more information, follow this link: https://mailchi.mp/steamcollab/schedule-interviews
I look forward to hearing from you!
In the meantime, you can learn more about this study by watching the video below.
The STEAM Collaborative e-learning platform will be used to distribute reading materials and collect data on participants’ learning related to PLCs and STEM education. Check it out!
Together, we can change the lives of Black girls in STEM! Thank you for your interest in this important work! Jasmine L. Sadler, MBA
